Kitchen Renovation Oakville

Kitchen tools are useful but it’s easy for them to pile up and create a big mess or take up lots of valuable space. If you have a small kitchen space with limited storage, you need to either get rid of these tools or get better at organizing them. Let’s share some eye-opening tips to help you get rid of unnecessary items in your kitchen and organize the ones you need better.

Get Rid Of Kitchen Utensils

This is not to say you should get rid of all your utensils. Take all of your spoons, spatulas and other utensils out of the drawers and group similar items together. If you have any utensils that are broken or stained, they need to go to the trash. Keep only the utensils you need and get rid of duplicates too.

Get Rid Of Space-Stealing Appliances

There are certain small appliances that quickly occupy the little storage space you have in your small kitchen. How about getting rid of appliances that only do one function and replacing them with one that can perform diverse functions? Doing this will help you to get rid of redundant appliances in your kitchen and save space.

Think of other appliances that you rarely use and get rid of them too. A good example would be the slow cooker or rice cooker that you never use since you prefer using pots and pans. Instead of having a regular standalone toaster, you can use your oven for the same purpose. Review all your small appliances and consider how often you use each one. If you use the appliance often, keep it otherwise, donate it or simply sell it to get a different appliance that serves multiple purposes.

Get Rid Of Mismatching Plates, Mugs And Flatware

If you have mugs, plates and generally any flatware that doesn’t match your sets, perhaps you need to get rid of it. Those random mugs, branded plastic cups and any other mismatched glasses need to go. They will save you a lot of space. If you used to have plastic bowls and cups for children who are no longer living with you, there’s no harm in tossing them away too. Any worn out or discolored flatware needs to be eliminated fast. Keep these items depending on the number of people who are normally in your household and whether you entertain a lot.

Too Many Pots And Pans

Pots and pans are generally very bulky items that take up lots of storage space. Do you really need to have that many of them? It’s time to free up the space in your kitchen by getting rid of pots and pans that you don’t really need.

Serving Pieces

If you do a lot of entertaining, it makes sense to have lots of serving pieces. If you don’t plan on hosting large parties and open houses, get rid of the extras that you don’t need. You can sell them or donate to someone in need.
