This is one of those kitchen renovations that instantly delivered the wow factor. We managed to perform necessary renovations to turn the crowded and boring looking place into something more spacious, beautiful and functional. After reviewing the space, we came up with the following renovations to transform it into a haven our client was pleased to set eyes on.
Cabinet upgrades
The existing cabinets looked old and worn out and we knew investing in new ones will not only provide extra storage room but also change the overall look of the kitchen. The new cabinets bring out a clean and simplistic look while giving the illusion of a much larger room due to their light color. Their handles match well with the rest of the hardware.
Countertop
We installed a quartz countertop that instantly boosted not just the value of the property but also its overall look and feel. The previous countertop had a darker shade but we opted for a lighter color to open up the place. We installed a new backsplash that is sleek and blends perfectly with the rest of the kitchen space. The color of the backsplash complements the countertop really well.
Tiles
We supplied and installed porcelain tiles to replace the existing ones. Good thing with porcelain is that it is not only affordable but also easy to clean and maintain. Since kitchens are prone to spills and dirt, porcelain tiles are an excellent option to keep the area nice and tidy.
Appliances
If you notice from the “before photos”, the appliances like refrigerator and oven were not fitted within the cabinetry and appeared out of place in the small area. We changed this by fitting a new refrigerator and oven below the new cabinetry while making sure they have a similar finish to create a seamless look. More energy efficient appliances (dishwasher and fridge) were selected for this project to make the ultimate remodel generate cost savings in future.
Ceiling
The office part appeared cluttered and small. We opened it up with new cabinetry, and removed the popcorn ceiling in the office and living area. A fresh coat of paint made the entire office section look as good as new.
Special lighting
This kitchen and living area needed some new lighting. We installed beautiful pot lights in the cookhouse to enhance the beauty while still making sure there’s adequate visibility. We also installed stunning LED puck lights beneath the cabinets and pendant lights in the rest of the space to add a dramatic effect.
New fixtures
Like most kitchen renovations, this area could use some new fixtures. We added unique fixtures on the sink giving it an instant upgrade. The undermount stainless steel sink also perfectly fits in the space together with the pull-down faucet which was specifically chosen to blend with the rest of the elements within.
Overall, the project cost was approximately $30,000 and the client loved every bit.
